Those people at Konami who make Metal Gear Solid must really be bored since they’ve made so many different sound files, for people commenting a box!
The more i replay that, the more ridiculously funny it gets.
Snow behaves the same way like sand does in wind.
I realized this when i looked outside the window this morning and saw snow lying in piles, just like sand does in the desert. I for one, thought this to be quite fascinating, that two so different things could behave so much alike.
It’s things like these that make you wonder.
Also, just for the record… I hate snow. Mainly because: it gets you wet, and kinda difficult to pass through when there’s just a few inches of it.
A few days ago, I really had this urge to hurt one of my friends. (The story will follow).
Anyway, you know when you got friends, you’d really want to help them when they ask for your help. So did I a few days ago. But it’s kinda hard when they dont cooperate with you. Now to the story….
Last week, a friend of mine messages me on Messenger, and asks if I can help with his printer, he’s saying that he’s missing the drivers, and he has an exam tomorrow so he urgently needs to get this problem fixed ASAP, and mind you, he messaged me at 23.51.
So, he tells me the printer name, and i begin searching for drivers. He told me at first, that he wasn’t able to find the drivers for the printer, so he simply just wanted me to find some for him. After a bit searching i find out that the name of the printer he told me, actually goes by another name, I ask him, and he says that it isn’t that printer, so back to square one.
I, as the smart bugger I am, still don’t believe him, so I give him the direct link to the download, and ask him to install the driver. He tries to install them and tells me that it quits the installation midways through the install, just like the drivers he tried installing from the cd that followed the printer.
Hey, wait a minute.
…..already tried installing drivers… WITH THE CD THAT FOLLOWED….WTF???
okay…so he apparently already had tried installing the drivers, but still wanted me to make sure that he had tried with the correct ones, no harm done.
I then refer him to another page I found, to check and see if it’s the same printer, and now he confirms it. And he even says that it’s the model number written on the printer.
I then continue with the regular procedure, “okay, try entering device manager and check if you already have printer drivers installed, if you do, delete them, reboot and try installing again”.
At this point I get him to boot a few times and obviously I think he’s doing what i’m telling him, I then send him a few screenshots and asks if his device manager looks like this or not, he then replies “How do I enter device manager”….. i mean wtf. If people don’t want to do what you’re telling them to do WHY DO YOU ASK FOR THEIR HELP THEN?
Though at this point I realized that this problem was acutally out of my hands, since after a few messages back and forth, he DID check if his printer drivers was installed or not, and they weren’t. So I told him around 01.30 that I was unable to fix the problem, and he tells me that it’s okay, he’ll just ask someone if he can borrow their printer for the exam tomorrow.
Me: “Tomorrow? don’t you mean today… it’s past midnight”
Him: “Yes.. I know it’s past midning, that’s why i said tomorrow.”
Me: “WTF?! YOU MESSAGED ME BEFORE MIDNIGHT AND SAID YOU HAD YOUR EXAM TOMORROW. IDIOT!”
Him: “hmm.. smaller detail”
Word to the wise… If you want help, first give the correct information and then please, for the love of God and everything that’s holy, listen to the one you want the help from, since he’s trying to actually help you.
